Shaker elements

Hi everyone,

I hope the sun is shining for you all like it is here today! It's fabulous; really lifts the spirits and almost feels like summer!

Just linking in to Hannah Young's mini book with shaker elements feature in the upcoming issue 62 of Scrapbook Magazine. As promised for those of you who missed the 12x12" shaker layout that Louise Collins did for us back in issue 58, here is a piccie with some close-ups as well as the steps for creating it.

1 Attach 3D foam tape around all four edges of a white backing card, ensuring you leave no gaps.

2 Sprinkle a mix of microbeads and seed beads on the white card and lay the acetate over the top to seal them in.

3 Using a sheet of Pebbles paper, cut out a frame to hide the foam tape and stick it down over the top of the acetate. Add Stickles dots around the edge.

4 Punch some different sized circles from other Pebbles papers, ink the edges and stick towards the bottom-left corner where your title will be and the top-right where the photo will be. Overlap a few of them.

5 Cut out the image from your photo and position it so that it appears to be coming out from behind the frame.

6 Add your title and then embellish the page with buttons, butterflies and small accent words.

The Creative Crafts Show, EventCity

I'm really looking forward to attending The Creative Crafts Show at EventCity, Manchester tomorrow! I've been having a look at the exhibitors list and can't wait to dive in for a natter and browse!

The show runs 9th - 11th February and is a great chance to hunt for all your craft supplies whether you're a stamper, cross stitcher, card maker, knitter, quilter, scrapbooker or if you're in to another kind of craft! There'll be some great interactive bits on the go as well with Make & Takes, the Have-a-Go area and more, as well as workshops with The Southampton Bead Shop, Katie Pirson on hand embroidery, ribbon weaving with Meiflower and an extreme textile workshop with Rachel John.

Be sure to head to EventCity near the Trafford Centre, Manchester if you get a chance!

Bazzill branch out

Following their rather successful patterned paper releases last year, popular cardstock and embellishment manufacturer Bazzill Basics Paper have released yet more impressive collections to tempt us.

The new releases come straight out of the CHA Trade show and include a selection of lovely 12x12" patterned paper designs to suit a range of styles and project themes, as well as being accompanied by a whole host of coordinating embellishments.

There are four new collections in all, each with their own designer style.

Avalon is designed by famous fabric artist and quilter Amanda Herring from the Quilted Fish, Dino-Mite comes from painter Brooke Sadler, Vintage Marketplace is designed and created by Bazzill's very own Margie Romney-Aslett and Wayfarer is designed by longtime paper crafter and artist Janet Hopkins.

Dusty Attic Skeleton Clock Faces

I've had an email from a Scrapbook Magazine reader saying they're having problems finding the Dusty Attic Skeleton Clock Faces that Rachael Elliott used on her fabulous Smile page from issue 59.

For anyone struggling to find these, they're available from Just Scrapbooking here.

New UK distributor for Clearsnap

Jones & Company of Nottingham have just announced that they've expanded their distributed product lines to include the fabulous ranges of Clearsnap products.

In addition to a variety of inkpads and general craft supplies, Jones will be promoting sales of the unique Clearsnap Smooch products as well as the latest Smooch Glitz addition which is composed of clear ink infused with a colourful selection of sparkly glitters.

Packaged in the popular Smooch bottle style, Glitz is applied using the special brush in the lid and can be layered a little or a lot to create subtle or intense glittered effects.

There are currently eight colours available including Firecracker, Goldrush, Frost, Lime Twist, Mystified, Starlight, Plum Spice and Pink Fizz.
